Been a while since we’ve heard anything from Glasgow’s Hellfire Club. However they’ve a new single which is launched today with an acoustic set from the band at The Rio Cafe, Partick tonight at 7pm. Sun In The Sky was produced by Johnny Smillie, guitarist with Thrum and will be available digitally from the usual outlets. As you can hear below it’s a fine jangled slice of Americana with a fiddle laced chorus that fairly drives the song along. Apparently a taster for their upcoming album, Songs For Fallen Stars, it certainly livened up our Friday morning especially the guitar lead towards the end which fades out all too soon.
